Question: Are your ads truly free?
Answer: Yes, right now we charge nothing for the basic ad. However, after you
have submitted your ad we ask for a $5.00 donation to the cause. It's totally voluntary.
Question: How long will they remain free?
Answer: For the forseeable future.
Question: How long will my ad run?
Answer: A long time if you want it to. We have several times that you can choose with the longest being a year.
Question: Can I link my ad to my webpage or another site?
Answer: Absolutely, that's free too.
Question: Can I include a picture with my ad?
Answer: Yes you can. Just email us a picture in gif or jpeg format
or send via regular mail and we will scan in. We will crop as appropriate. We
also charge $5.00 for that service. Like our ads, paying the service charge
is voluntary. Remember, by submitting a picture your ad will move to the front
section of the listing. It naturally receives more attention from the general
public.
Question: Why are the pictures so small?
Answer: They are intentionally kept small to limit the time it takes to load a
page. If you click on the image it enlarges to it's original size.
Question: How can I improve the small image that you've placed with my ad?
Answer: Normally people send one image. We reduce or crop the image to thumbnail size.
Sometimes the modified image is not particularly attractive. If you want to send two images,
one for the thumbnail and one for the enlarged image we will be happy to accept.
Question: Even the enlarged image is not particularly attactive. How can it be improved?
Answer: Most people send a small, highly compressed image for inclusion with their ad.
To improve on the problem, Commerce Corner is open to the use of larger images with more pixels
since they are only uploaded for the individual customer that is particularly interested in your
ad.
Question: I'd like to include more than one image with my ad. How can I do that?
Answer: The easiest way is to tape several pictures on a 8 1/2 x 11 inch piece of paper
and scan the whole thing or send it to us directly. We will link the whole group of pictures
to your ad.
Question: How can I move my ad up to the top of the listing?
Answer: The easiest way is to submit a picture with your ads. Picture ads are automatically
given top billing
Question: Can I change my ad after it is submitted?
Answer: Absolutely. All you need to do is keep track of your name
or nickname, and password. These allow you to change or delete your ad at anytime. Just enter
the category that the ad was placed in and click on the change an ad link and follow the
instuctions. It's as easy as 1,2,3. Send us an Email if you have any problems and we will be
glad to help.
Question: Can I delete my ad for any reason at any time?
Answer: Yes. All you need to do is keep track of your name
or nickname, and password. These allow you to delete your ad at anytime. Just enter
the category that the ad was placed in and click on the delete an ad link and follow the
instuctions. Send us an Email if you have any problems and we will be
glad to help.
Question: I had problems submitting my ad. I can't find it in your database.
Answer: Like all websites, we sometimes have problems or have to disconnect from
the internet for maintenance or to reboot the computer. If you're paticularly unlucky this
happens when you're connected and trying to place or change an ad. We recommend trying
again the next day. Rarely are we off-line.
Question: I included some HTML tags with my ad and now I don't see it anymore. What happened
to it?
Answer: To be consistent and fair we don't allow customers to use HTML tags with
their advertisements. These ads are deleted from the database.
